Everyone employed in Chicago must complete Sexual Harassment and Bystander Intervention Training on an annual basis!

An employer’s failure to train employees could result in fines as high as $10,000, plus attorney fees.

Lawyers for the Creative Arts wants to make sure that every arts organization with one or more Chicago employees is in compliance and has a clear understanding of their responsibilities under the new law.

This training will satisfy the annual training requirement for Chicago Employers and includes the two hour Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for supervisors and managers and one hour Bystander Training for all employees, plus a Q & A session at the end.

Outside of Chicago, employers with 1 or more employee in Illinois must provide 1 hour of annual sexual harassment training to their Illinois employees (including full-time, part-time and seasonal.) The Illinois Department of Human Rights and the City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations offer online trainings on their websites. While these trainings meet the minimum requirements, there is no opportunity to ask questions or get advice. You may also hire a consultant, attorney, HR professional, or training consultant to train employees and supervisors.

The program schedule is as follows:

  • 1:00pm – Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - Training for All Employees
  • 2:00pm – Bystander Intervention Training – Training for All Employees
  • 3:00pm – Sexual Harassment Training Supplement for Chicago Supervisors - Employer/Manager Training
  • 4:00pm – End of Program
